Belle Femme Therapeutics, LLC began research efforts for Striae Gravidarum (Stretch Marks) based on scientific studies published in dermatology medical journals. The University of Michigan experts discovered that retinoic acid would reduce the appearance of stretch marks by 80% - if used for a six (6) month therapy. The medication was applied once per day and after about three (3) months patients began to see their stretch marks improve. Many dermatology experts believe the parent compound (Retinol) would also improve the postpartum (after pregnancy) appearance of stretch marks and significantly reduce side effects – if the proper dose were developed. After extensive testing, the proper formula was identified. This formula helped improve the appearance of stretch marks in most patients with a significant reduction in side effects.

In 2007, Belle Femme Therapeutics, LLC began marketing Post-Grav Serum™ to Ob/Gyn physicians that also have a skin care practice.
